II Tim 2:15   "Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth."  (Amplified)
 
The part that stood out to me in this scripture was  "correctly analyzing and accurately dividing the Word of Truth".  Because of the age we live in, information, doctrine, books, teachings, opinions etc bombard us in every area of our lives.  To not be swayed away from the teaching of Christ, we must know and emerse ourselves in the Word of God.  We each have opinions of what and how God should do things, but does it measure up to the written Word of God?  How can I know what I believe is truly based on God's Word?  The answer is a daily reaching out to God..."Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved..."
 
My new favorite scripture is II Cor 5:4  "...that mortality may be swallowed up by Life."  In other words, Lord, take that which is not of You and let it be totally consumed by You and all You are, so that I am a different person who reacts without thinking according to the standard of Your Word.  Let all my natural opinions and thoughts be devoured by Your Spirit, so there is nothing left but Life and my ardent desire to share it with others.
