More of You, Jesus

Eph 1:17-18  (Amplified)
"[For I always pray to] God that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe..."

I think this is a great example how we can pray for ourselves and others, especially when you have no clue what to say or what to ask for.  I'd like to break it down simply:

           1)  God, give me an understanding of who You truly are, not what I want You to be
           2)  Open my eyes so that I may be filled to over-flowing with Your hope, changing not only myself, but Your people also
           3)  Give me a deep, intimate relationship with You, so that I would know without a doubt that You are for me

Lord, I pray for myself and Your children that we would hunger for You, craving You with a desire that will not be satisfied until we see You face to face.  Fill us so full of Your hope that it would flow out and draw those that have no hope, so that they also may be filled.  Draw us, O Lord of all, into such a relationship that we gladly set aside anything that would separates us from You..."that mortality may be swallowed up by Life."  II Cor 5:4
