I Samuel 3:4-10
As I read this passage of how God called and made Himself known to the boy Samuel, I realized how similar it was to my own story. I remember how God began to "call" to me and I responded by running to what I thought to be spiritual enlightenments at the time; the Eli's of my life. But I found to my confusion, that they were not the source of the "call." And then one glorious night "the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel, Samuel!" And I answered,"Jesus, if You are really God, I want to serve You for the rest of my life."
In the next moment I learned beyond the shadow of amy doubt that He was indeed God and I have never doubted it in the 36 years since. I didn't know it then but He had an amazing plan for my life and it has been glorious beyond my ability to describe, discovering it and living it. For me there is no greater priveledge than to be His voice, revealing Himself to others.
