Created to Worship

We were created to worship the Lord.  Some of my most intimate times with the Lord are in times of worship in the context of singing praise.  And the extension of that intimacy is a deeper relationship with Him, a greater capacity to love and honor him with my choices and actions.  Worship is so much more than music or the words to a song we sing; it is obedience, it is loving others like he has loved us, it is laying our lives down for Him.  For me, even the daily working out of my faith is worship.  And without that piece, the music, the lyrics, and the worship that happens with my church family on Sunday morning would still be beautiful, but absolutely meaningless.  In Psalm 65, David declares God’s “awesome deeds of righteousness.”   He confesses his total dependence on God’s saving grace: “When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave [b] our transgressions.” He lists examples of God’s faithfulness and power.  Take a moment and consider what your psalm of worship to God would be.  List the awesome deeds of righteousness that have saved and redeemed you.  What examples are there in your life and in your story that that shout God’s praises.  We were created to worship the Lord.
