Gal 5:5 "For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith."
In reading this scripture, the word "eager" seemed to stand out to me. So I looked up the word in the dictionary and found some pretty interesting synonyms.
The definition of eager is: an impatient desire; anticipating enthusiastically.
Below is a list of words that also describe the characteristics of an eager person:
thirsty greedy zealous on edge longing
voracious yearning craving desirous impatient
wishful ambitious lively glad ardent
wild willing ready ravenous enthusiastic
spirited passionate
Some of these words had a negative connotation in my mind. But then when you start to really consider each word, why not be greedy for the things of God? Why not be impatient, wild, ravenous and ambitious to be one with the Living God? I want all God has for me and I want to put my "all" into seeking Him. So I will "eagerly" wait for Him (and all of the above).
Have a great day.
