Luke 23: 42-43 "Then he said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when you come into Your Kingdom.' And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.' "
As I read this I was thrilled to see the magnificent provision of the Father. This interchange between Jesus and the other man on the cross was just before Jesus died. The pain must have been horrible...a vulnerable time of questions....And the Father provided the courage necessary to finish His journey. When Jesus looked this man in the eye, it gave Him the physical vision of why He was dying on this cross. I think it gave Him that last final boost He needed to complete the Father's will, especially as His physical weakness was at it's height.
I see this as again a wonderful provision from the Father and I know that provision will extend itself to me. We all have and will continue to face hard times, but we know that the Father will not leave us alone. What He provided for His Son, He will also provide for us. It may be in the very midst of tough times, but as we relinquish all we are to the will of the Father, we can rest assured He will give us the necessary courage to accomplish all He desires. This is a great example of the Father knowing what is necessary at the time of need. So be encouraged, the Father never left His Son alone, He'll not leave us alone either. Hide this in your heart and when you need it most, God will bring it to your rememberance of His supernatural provision.
Rest in God.......Pam
