True Riches

Since my last journal entry, God has demonstrated His Lavished Love on Katie and I in an amazing way. He has opened a door to go to Central Mexico and minister to the married couples there for 121 days, two seminars. I am astounded by the series of events that has brought it to pass and look forward with eager anticipation at what He will do.

True Riches
Revelations 2:9-3:17 To the saints in Smyrna God says,"yet you are rich!" To the wealthy Lukewarm church of Laodicea God writes, "You say, 'I am rich, I have acquired great wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked."
The scripture cannot say it any clearer. What man esteems as wealth, God places no value on. God calls the faithful saints at Smyrna living in poverty, rich.
Many ministries today are preaching and teaching theology contrary to what God wrote to the churches in Revelation. Material prosperity is confirmation of God's favor-His blessing. But as I read God's word I don't see it. It's not what I  hear God saying to me. Jesus did not engage in any fund raisers that I can see, with the exception of sending Peter fishing. And then He raised just enough to pay taxes owed.
I am on my way to spend a few days with a church and people that don't enjoy the financial prosperity that most of us do. Perhaps I'll discover they are "richer" than I am.
