Heb 4:12 "For the Word of God is living & powerful & sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints & morrow & is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Upon reading this scripture, how are you responding inside? Do you think, 'my neighbor really needs to hear this'? Or maybe you quickly skim over it, pulling away so that your inner-most being remains hidden? Or do you want to fall on your knees, bare your chest, asking Him to plunge His Sword in & reveal all to His Love & Mercy?
I have responded all three ways at various times in my life and I've found our Lord to be truly understanding of my weaknesses, always drawing me closer to Him. Yes, He desires complete surrender but He is able to lift me up & out of my natural responses and change me. Verse 16 says, "...come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need."
I am so grateful, Lord, that You draw me to Yourself...to a place where 'me, myself and I' cannot exist. Teach me to surrender all to You. Teach me to trust You completely. Gently reveal the intent of my heart and help me to embrace the removal of all that does not exalt You as Lord.
