Expect the Miraculous

Acts 3:16

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.  It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

The same miraculous power that healed the crippled beggar is at work in our lives today, is at work in our body.  Sometimes the healing is physical and immediately visible, sometimes healing is emotional or spiritual, and each is equally amazing. And Peter’s answer to the surprised onlookers challenges me have faith for that same power to be evident in my life, in the people I pray for, in our church, in our city.  By grace, we can have faith to expect God to be amazing and astonishing in our lives.

God, forgive me for being consumed by what I can see in front of me.  Instead, give me faith to see the challenges of each day, give me faith to see my own limitations and still know that you are the King of Kings, that your son Jesus’ sacrifice truly was and is enough and that You do have miraculous power to heal us and set us free!  Lord, I pray that you would be lifted up and glorified through those miracles.  And also help me never forget to say out loud the ways you have been mighty in my life, how your healing power has healed my heart and my body.
